Biography
Jacqueline Perreault Gonzales
grew up in Rochester, New York
as part of a family of seven
children. From her earliest
childhood she loved drawing and
woodcarving. She has now over 25
years experience as a
professional artist.
During High School Perreault
Gonzales moved with her family
to Dallas and, subsequently, to
Los Angeles. After High School
she decided to keep her creative
talents as a hobby and decided
to study Politics at the
University of California. She
soon realized that she was much
more passionate about art and
she went to study at California
State Long Beach. During her
studies Perreault Gonzales got a
job at the Disneyland
Entertainment Art Department,
where she made props and signs
for special events and fleet
models for the parades. After
having worked several years at
Disneyland and studying at
University she was offered a job
with a renowned sculptor in New
York. For 8 years Perreault
Gonzales worked in New York for
several studios and toy
companies. Every new project was
an experience and she liked
doing projects for the Central
Park Zoo most (she worked on
animal habitats). During that
time, she was even asked to
repair the beak or the shield of
a wounded animal to aid in the
recovery of the animal.
At a time, Perreault Gonzales
felt the desire to live near her
family, moved back to Los
Angeles and returned to
Disneyland Entertainment Art. It
was during that period that
Perreault Gonzales created many
of the life-size sculptures for
the Disney Stores, but also
toys, Christmas ornaments, snow
globes and a lot more.
Perreault Gonzales worked a lot
with the well-known artist
Robert Olszewski on the
Storytime Collection and she
made two miniatures for the Walt
Disney Classics Collection, Jaq
and Gus "Tiny Tailors".
