Biography

David Pacheco is a key member of the creative team at Walt Disney Art Classics since its inception. Pacheco was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and has been a Disney-fan since his early childhood. In 1980, Pacheco became a Disney animator. He worked as a Disney animator on large productions, such as "The Fox and the Hound", "Mickey's Christmas Carol", "The Black Cauldron", "The Great Mouse Detective", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "The Little Mermaid".
In the Eighties a lot of his work could be seen in several Disney television shows and some of his work can be seen in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort, like "Journey into Imagination".

In 1987, Pacheco worked on one of his favorite projects: the restoration of the so called "lost scenes" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the release of the film. Because of his knowledge of Disney animation and his persistence he was able to restore legendary scenes, such as the wedding scene.

In 1989, Pacheco became the Creative director of Disney Publishing and in 1990 he was also asked to use his talents to form a new collection of high-end collectibles, the Walt Disney Classics Collection. For several years Pacheco had two jobs and when Disney Art Classics was started in 1996 Pacheco left Disney Publishing and became the Creative Director of the Walt Disney Classics Collection, the Walt Disney Collectors Society, the Disney Showcase Collection and all other limited editions and posters published by Disney Consumer Products.

Recently, Pacheco designed a series of stamps for the United States Postal Service, which is one of the best selling series ever.
