Question: How do I become a member of the Walt Disney Collectors Society (WDCS)?

Answer: A membership of the Walt Disney Collectors Society (WDCS) can only be obtained through authorized WDCC dealers. Get and Collect is NOT an official dealer of the Walt Disney Classics Collection. For a list of authorized dealers you can click here to go to our dealer page.

Question: Can you send me a WDCC catalogue ?

We often get questions to send WDCC catalogues. Catalogues are part of the membership of the Walt Disney Collectors Society and will be send automatically after you have become a member (above you'll find the answer on how to become a member).

Although we cannot send you a catalogue, this web site provides information on every sculpture ever produced by the Walt Disney Classics Collection. On our sculptures page you can find detailed information on every sculpture. (click here to go to the sculptures page).

Sculptures - Limited Editions

A Lovely Dress for CinderellyQuestion: There are limited editions, but how do I obtain a sculpture which bears number one?

Answer: Numbering often starts at different places in the series.
For example: the very first figurine that was made of Cinderella’s dress (A Lovely Dress for Cinderelly) had not number 1 on it but number 2,500. The first figurine of the Big Bad Wolf (Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf) had number 7,500 and so on.

This is being done to prevent a number becoming to special and so to prevent a hunt for this special number.

It is also being done to replace sculptures that arrive broken at the dealers. It's often just plain and simple luck to obtain a "special" number.

Sculptures - Paint

Question: Is it correct, that the black color on some of the Opening Titles of the same movie differ from each other?

Answer: Yes, that’s correct. The older versions of the Opening Titles are often not completely black. Sometimes they are discolored by sunlight.
Opening TitleThis can easily be determined when looking at the paint: do you see stripes (like when you paint yourself), then the title was produced like this. Is the color light and the paint smooth (no stripes) then it is probably discolored by sunlight.
On the photo you can see two different Opening Titles: one early version (with stripes) and a newer version (without stripes). Click on the photo to enlarge it.

Question: The black paint on my sculpture starts to bubble and/or flake off, what can I do about that?

Hyacinth HippoAnswer: The colors black and cobalt blue are known to give some problems. Sometimes the paint starts to bubble and/or flake off. Sadly, nothing can be done to stop this. Of course, it can be repaired, but you have to weigh the costs. Prevention may prove difficult: it is best to display the sculptures in an environment with a controlled and constant temperature and humidity (recommended is a temperature of 20º to 21º Celsius and a humidity of 50%) and to protect them from direct sunlight or the heat of for instance a halogen bulb. This may also help to prevent more flaking and/or bubbling.
Sculptures, which are known to have this flaking or bubbling are Maleficent "Evil Enchantress", the Evil Queen "Bring Back her Heart" and the Hippopotamus from Fantasia "Hyacinth Hippo". On the photo you can see an example of bubbling and flaking on Maleficent. Click on the photo to enlarge it.
